Job Description

Introduction

A vacancy exists for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Coordinator based in Blantyre, Malawi reporting to the SHEQ Manager for Region Africa with dotted line to Country Manager, the incumbent shall be responsible for ensuring that the leadership team in the company implement and comply with local legislation as well as Linde Group policies in terms of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)

Job Specification

  • Managing and executing SHEQ plan and improving the processes to enhance SHEQ
  • Solidifying and Improving the SHEQ culture of the company.
  • Ensuring that Linde Group SHEQ policies and local SHEQ regulations are fully understood by the entire workforce and implemented in the business.
  • Developing and executing inspections, auditing, and conducting risk assessments programs to identify hazards and risks, and putting in place mitigation measures
  • Ensure Process Safety Mangement (PSM) is embedded.
  • Work with line management to ensure Security scorecards are maintained
  • Work with line management to maintain ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 & OHSAS 18001
  • Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • In-depth understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements of pharmacovigilance
  • Facilitate, provide guidance, and input into all incidents, and recommend corrective actions, which addresses the root causes of incidents.
  • Co-ordinating SHEQ audits and ensuring that all audit findings are closed on scheduled time.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have an Engineering Degree or relevant tertiary qualification in SHEQ from a recognized University. A BSc in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years’ work experience in a similar capacity in a busy and competitive environment
