Job Description
The Northern Region Water Board (NRWB) is a Parastatal Organisation that was established in 1996 under the Waterworks Act, Cap 72:01 of the Laws of Malawi. The core mandate of the NRWB is to provide potable water supply and waterborne sanitation services to urban, peri-urban, and market centers in the Northern Region of Malawi.
The NRWB seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the following temporary positions:
TEMPORARY SALES REPRESENTATIVE (GRADE RANGE A3A1) TWELVE POSITIONS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Sales Supervisor or Scheme Coordinator, the Temporary Sales Representative shall be responsible for the following duties among others:
- Reading customer meters.
- Reporting faulty meters to the Sales Supervisor for appropriate action such as servicing or replacement.
- Entering meter readings on meter cards.
- Generating on spot bills if using the On Spot Billing System • Disconnecting water supply for bill payment defaulters.
- Reconnecting disconnected accounts after verifying that the customer concerned has fully settled outstanding bills and reconnection fees.
- Attending to and resolving customer queries.
- Undertaking hand delivery of water bills as and when required.
- Checking for illegal usage of water and reporting findings to the Sales Supervisor or Scheme Coordinator.
- Participating in debt collection campaigns
QUALIFICATIONS
- Malawi School Certificate of Education or its equivalent with passes in English and Mathematics.
- Those with some experience in the same position will have added advantage.
- Those with computing knowledge and a certificate in Marketing or related fields will have a distinct advantage.
Terms and Conditions
The Board shall offer an attractive package (commensurate with qualifications and experience) which includes salary, medical insurance, water allowance, and membership to a Contributory Group Pension Scheme.
