Job Description
Timotheos Foundation is a local Malawian Christian Charity whose main objective is to support and care for orphans and other vulnerable children in Malawi. It was established on 1st September 2011 and officially registered under the Trustees incorporation act of Malawi on 3rd July 2012. We are affiliated to CONGOMA as well as the NGO Regulatory Authority. A secondary school of our organization is in a growth stage hence is in the process of recruiting additional members of staff to cater to the needs of its beneficiaries.
POSITION: SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS
The successful candidates shall be posted at David Livingstone Christian Academy, which is located at Domasi about 800 meters from tarmac road.
The prospectors shall, among other things, provide education services to students through lesson preparation, delivery and evaluation at the expense of ensuring high standards of education services and discipline to meet the institution`s goals and objectives.
Status of the contract: One year, renewable depending on performance and conduct.
1.0 PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

1.7 Dedicated to produce impressive results at the end of each term through continuous assessments.
2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Not exhaustive
2.1 Preparing schemes and records of work as well as teaching notes
2.2 Compiling test results
2.3 Ensuring that teaching and learning is taking place in his/her class
2.4 Maintaining class records e.g. attendance, scholastic and period registers.
2.5 Coordinating with the head teacher on class related issues
2.6 Managing the care of classroom property
2.7 Providing counseling and guidance to learners
2.8 Conducting remedial and enrichment lessons
2.9 Maintaining discipline and classroom cleanliness.
2.10 Identifying students’ needs
2.11 Teaching Bible stories following reformed doctrine during week opening and week is a MUST.
2.12 Any other duties assigned by the head teacher or deputy head teacher from time to time.
3.0 PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
3.1 Must have a minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree in education obtained from a reputable accredited University in Malawi by NCHE and a minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience as a Secondary School Teacher
3.2 Understanding the duties and tasks of a Secondary School Teacher.
3.3 The job requires someone who can communicate very well in both verbal and written English.
3.4 Must possess all qualities of a good secondary school teacher.
3.5 With computer knowledge and skills
3.6 Be able to promote the Christian identity of the organization
3.7 Must be between 30 to 50 years old
3.8 Those who have already registered and licensed with Teachers’ Council of Malawi will have an added advantage
4.0 REMUNERATION
- Salary will be commensurate with the grade and scope of the post indicated, as shall be laid out in the contract of employment.
