The USAID Kumaliza Maphunziro Activity will build on existing structures to increase the availability, access, and quality of education, including remedial skills, life skills, health and leadership, mentorship, and financial inclusion.

Position Description

The Senior Manager of Finance and Operations shall work under the leadership of the Chief of Party, and will be responsible for all aspects of operations, including administration, finance, procurement, and human resources, if relevant.

Qualifications

Education:

A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or other relevant field.

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 8-9 years of relevant experience as a Finance and Administration Manager on donor-funded projects. Some experience on USAID-funded projects preferred.
  • Relevant experience in program management in developing countries, preferably in the implementation of a national scale education and/or health program.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, financial reporting standards, financial management processes, and procedures.
  • Logistics experience, such as large-scale procurements and coordination of teams for field activities, preferably in Malawi or southeast Africa.
  • Experience with donor funded projects, including contracts, and understanding of USAID rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated exemplary management, supervision, communication, and interpersonal skills to ensure internal coherence among diverse team members and productive relations with the Government of Malawi, donors, and the international community.
  • Ability to write, communicate, and prepare contractual documents and reports clearly in English.

Language:

Fluency in English is required.
