Alliance One Tobacco (Malawi) is seeking applications for the position of

SHIPPING CONTROLLER

Reporting directly to the Shipping Manager , key responsibilities for the successful candidate will among other things include the following:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Updating shipment details in SAP and ensuring shipments meet terms of sale within the stipulated timeframes
  • Ensuring timely receipt and processing of Third-Party service invoices
  • Obtaining and providing freight rates from Third Parties as requested by Leaf Sales
  • Monitoring the quality of services provided by Third Parties and taking corrective actions as needed
  • Coordinating Corporate Compliance, adherence to ISO procedures, and compliance with local and international trade regulations
  • Ensuring fiscal discipline in the workplace by effectively managing resources and adhering to budgetary constraints
  • Promoting staff competency and ensuring compliance with HR policy guidelines
  • Overseeing the Shipping Coordination team to ensure smooth shipping processes and efficient operations.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes

  • Relevant Degree in Transport and Logistics / Supply Chain Management or equivalent with at least five years post qualification experience
  • Excellent computer skills, advanced masterly of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and other computer packages like SAP
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Good working knowledge of the International Trade Procedures.
