Alliance One Tobacco (Malawi) is seeking applications for the post of

SHIPPING COORDINATOR

Reporting directly to the Shipping Controller , key responsibilities for the successful candidate will among other things include the following:-

Key responsibilities include:-

  • Calls for shipping instructions from the customer
  • Prepares customer update reports and sends to the customer through the back offices as and
    when an event occurs
  • Follows up on shipment until it meets terms of sale
  • Receives shipping instructions from back offices
  • Updates shipment and cockpit in SAP
  • Prepares and sends customer document suites to the back offices for approval
  • Receives shipping program for the year for Leaf Sales through Shipping Manager
  • Receives approval from the Account Executive with regard to Crop Protection Agents (CPA) results
  • Checks in SAP availability of stock, location, internal grade and weights
  • Prepares Dispatch Instructions which will indicate the fumigator, shipping line, forwarding agent, routing and a pick list; sends the documents to Dry Leaf Services (DLS) for shipment preparation.
  • Receives Delivery Notes from DLS after shipment dispatch
  • Prepares shipping documents which include customs invoice, CDI and other documents as per
    customer requirement.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes

  • Relevant Degree in Transport and Logistics / Supply Chain Management or equivalent with at least three years of post-qualification experience
  • Excellent computer skills, advanced masterly of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and other
    computer packages like SAP
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Good working knowledge of the International Trade Procedures
