To strengthen our local Malawi team, SICPA Malawi Limited is seeking a highly motived individual to join its team in the position of:

STOREKEEPER (MCHINJI BORDER)

Duration: 6 Months

JOB PURPOSE:

To carry out operational Supply Chain activities, in particular stock management, supervision of imports, goods inward, organization of domestic transport and reverse logistics. This job requires an understanding and experience of the complete supply chain, from registration of orders to final dispatch.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing stock movements: receptions, transfers, goods issue and physical inventories both physical and Information Systems (ERP or equivalent and tracking systems).
  • Ensure real time correspondence between physical and Information Systems.
  • Implementing the designed layout and ensure having a functional result
  • Organizing the preparation of shipments and dispatch to various customers within the country in accordance with instructions and approved documentation.
  • Assisting in preparation, verification and sign off warehouse and transport documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records to ensure immediate reporting on commodity movements in line with the corporate requirements.
  • Management of orders for consumables from the client request to the dispatch of products.
  • Assisting in conducting daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks supporting internal control systems in compliance with SICPA warehouse management requirements.
  • Assisting in performing daily inspections and preparing reports on the quantity and quality of stocks received/dispatched and handled, detect promptly and analyse reasons for stock discrepancies/damages, investigate missing quantity and prepare warehouse loss reports recommending appropriate solutions, to enable informed decision-making.
  • Compliance with SICPA internal rules and policies as well as with local regulations concerning security, safety, transport or any other regulations related to the function.
  • Execution of reverse logistics both physical and Information Systems in the event of defective, surplus or obsolete equipment, from sites to the warehouse and from the warehouse to Switzerland. Documents are issued by the Logistics Manager, Import – Export)
  • Optimization of costs

Educational Qualifications, Essential Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Diploma in supply chain management / Stores/logistics management.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Supply Chain post in the logistics field, with extensive knowledge of stock management, dispatch processes or distribution combined with knowledge and experience of an ERP system (inventory management).
  • Demonstrated experience of operational activities in logistics and if possible, purchasing, order management or distribution.
  • Technical or engineering background highly recommended.
  • Proven experience in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to remain focused in an organization subject to external interventions
  • Very familiar with the Microsoft Office suite
