Job Description
The National Planning Commission (NPC) is an autonomous public institution that was created through an Act of Parliament in 2017 to coordinate the formulation of long and medium-term national development plans and oversee their implementation. NPC has since then coordinated the successful formulation of the Malawi 2063 national vision and the Malawi 2063 First 10-Year Implementation Plan (MIP-1).
To fulfill its mandate effectively and efficiently, an opportunity has arisen within the institution to fill the position of:
Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, Research Officer and Team Assistant at NPC in Lilongwe.
These are highly demanding positions that require persons who have demonstrable capacities and qualifications towards making the NPC a center of excellence in medium and long-term national development planning and implementation oversight. More importantly, the NPC seeks professionals that are motivated and enthusiastic in driving the new development narrative of ‘wealth creation for all”
The following are the required personnel and work-related qualities for the position:
TEAM ASSISTANT – GRADE NP6
Reporting to: Director of Knowledge & Learning Directorate
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to members of the Directorate
- Arrange travel and accommodation for officers in the Directorate including acquisition of Visas Direct visitors to relevant action officer
- Taking Minutes and drafting reports of meetings of the Directorate
- Assist in preparations of meetings of the Directorate including meeting notifications, agenda and preparation of meeting documentation
- Assisting in events planning and all logistics involved
- Ordering and managing office supplies for the Directorate
- Filing and record keeping of documents in the Directorate
- Operate office machines such as photocopiers in serving the Division,
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of Diploma in Secretarial Studies, or other relevant office and event management qualification.
- At least 3 years practical experience.
