The Government of Malawi has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Multinational Nacala Road Corridor Development Project Phase V, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Technical Assistant (Individual Consultant).
The services included under this project are, but not limited to:
- Coordinate and supervise the project team to ensure that all contractual obligations and programme schedules are adhered to.
- Proactively plan all project upstream activities to ensure efficient and effective implementation of tasks leading to the establishment of the One-Stop Border Post (OSBP).
- Develop and maintain a project documentation for easier reference to project information.
- Facilitate and support vendors in accessing services from various government agencies as the need arises
- Provide updates and briefings on progress to Roads Authority and any other Malawi Government officials that are involved in the project from time to time
The duration of the assignment is 3 years.
The Roads Authority now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (cover letter, Curriculum Vitae, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.).
The Individual Consultant should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree .
- A postgraduate qualification in Project Management or Project Monitoring and Evaluation or its equivalent shall be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of One Stop Border Post experience in project management and procurement under international financing organizations as Technical Assistant
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, including the ability to write and present technical reports
- Demonstrated capacity for initiative and efficient decision-making with competent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with AfDB procedures will be considered an advantage
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Framework dated October 2015, ” which is available on the Bank’s website at https://www.afdb.org/en/projects-and-operations/procure-ment/new-procurement-policy.
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultant method set out in the Procurement Policy.
