The Sparkle Foundation Malawi is seeking a talented and creative Videographer to join our Marketing Team. The Videographer will play a key role in capturing and producing high-quality video content that showcases the foundation’s programs, impact, and initiatives. The role will focus on storytelling through video, creating compelling content for our partners, donors, social media, and promotional platforms. Although this role is based in Malawi, it reports into a global team and there is a requirement to work and deliver for an international audience.

We are looking for a passionate and suitably qualified candidate to fill the following vacancy.

 Job Title:  Videographer

Duties and Tasks

  1. Video Production:
  • Shoot and edit professional videos for various audiences, including partners, donors, and sponsors.
  • Create quarterly program and impact videos highlighting the achievements and progress of The Sparkle Foundation’s initiatives.
  • Produce thank-you videos for donors and sponsors to maintain engagement and appreciation.
  • Develop presentation videos for events, meetings, and strategic communications.
  1. Social Media Content:
  • Produce at least 4 reels per month tailored for Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms.
  • Create engaging and trend-relevant video content for the Country Director’s social media presence.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop creative video strategies that align with Sparkle’s branding and goals.
  1. YouTube Channel Management:
  • Film and edit videos specifically designed for the foundation’s YouTube channel to enhance its online presence and reach.
  • Ensure all videos are optimized for audience engagement and platform algorithms.
  1. Event Coverage:
  • Record and document fundraising events, partner visits, and other significant activities at the foundation.
  • Deliver polished event recap videos to increase visibility and engagement post-events.
  1. Collaboration and Planning:
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager, Content Creator, and Graphic Designer to plan video projects and ensure consistency in branding.
  • Coordinate with other departments to capture and highlight impactful stories across programs.

 Qualifications

  • Degree in Journalism or any other media related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role (environment)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Experience of creating and editing video and engaging graphics for use on social media, print and web using Adobe Creative Suite (or similar).
  • Proficiency in using office productivity software

DESIRABLE PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Videographer with a strong portfolio showcasing video production and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
  • Strong storytelling and creative thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with social media trends and platform-specific video formats.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with filming equipment, lighting, and sound design.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in non-profit or development sector video production.
  • Graphic design skills or knowledge of tools like Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics and animation (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
  • Background in storytelling related to education, community development, or social impact.
